Artist Statement: Someone once asked me if I set out to be a wedding photographer and truth be told, I never did. I picked up a camera while I was in high school to photograph a small church wedding, simply documenting the day as it unfolded. It didn't have a planner or an elaborate design, but it was filled with really good people. And I love people. I fell in love with the idea that I could help others remember how a moment felt, even if was only for a split second. I didn't have a shots list of moments that I had to get or expectations from the clients of what the end result would look like. I met people who cared a lot more about the process than just the product. It's hard to photograph weddings and not be in awe. I just wanted to remember it all. So I guess you could call me a photographer, but really I'm a storyteller, and I have a million more stories I want to tell. It's all wired deep in me: the desire to create, the desire for people, the desire to worship.
